Super Typhoon Fung-wong, known locally as Uwan, made landfall on Sunday, November 9, in Aurora Province, Luzon, with winds of around 185 km/h. Over a million people evacuated as heavy rains and strong winds cut power across Luzon. At least two people were killed, according to reports.
